The Role
Shape flagship learning experiences for the world’s most senior leaders
We are now seeking an exceptional Programme Director, Open Portfolio to lead the strategic direction, design and continuous evolution of some of our most high-profile executive programmes.
This is a rare opportunity to play a defining role in shaping transformational learning experiences for senior executives at a world-class institution.
You will be accountable for the strategic leadership, design, delivery and continuous development of London Business School’s flagship senior executive open programmes, including the Senior Executive Programme (SEP), the Global Executive Programme (GEP) and a wider portfolio of programmes serving highly senior audiences.
This role acts as the intellectual, experiential and cultural custodian of these programmes, ensuring they deliver a distinctive, world-class and transformational learning journey for senior participants, typically at C-suite or equivalent level.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for flagship open executive programmes serving senior leaders.
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the Senior Executive Programme, Global Executive Programme and related portfolio activity.
- Act as programme custodian, ensuring a coherent, high-quality and transformational participant experience.
- Shape compelling programme narratives and integrate diverse faculty, expert and thought leadership inputs into a cohesive learning journey.
- Facilitate and steward high-impact live learning experiences for senior executive audiences.
- Build trusted partnerships with senior faculty, experts and stakeholders to maintain programme quality and distinctiveness.
- Ensure programmes remain innovative, market-relevant and aligned with the needs of senior executive audiences.
- Strengthen alumni engagement and senior leader community-building through programme experiences.
- Contribute to the creation and launch of new flagship or market-defining programmes.
- Balance innovation, participant experience, reputation and financial performance across premium programme offerings.
- Exercise sound judgement in complex and high-profile delivery environments.
Who we are looking for
- A strong record of leading and shaping complex, high-profile executive education or senior-level learning experiences.
- Gravitas, confidence and presence to engage, facilitate and influence highly senior, sophisticated audiences, typically at C-suite or equivalent level.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a visible programme leader, setting direction, holding the narrative and exercising judgement in live, ambiguous and high-pressure environments.
- Strong intellectual range and curiosity, with the ability to synthesise diverse perspectives and faculty inputs into a compelling learning experience.
- Sophisticated facilitation capability, including reflection, sense-making and high-quality leadership conversations with senior participants.
- Experience working closely with senior faculty, experts or thought leaders while maintaining quality and coherence.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance innovation, reputation and financial performance.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build trust quickly, influence without authority and handle challenge with diplomacy and confidence.
- Resilience, professional judgement and a strong customer-centric mindset.
- A deep understanding of the expectations, behaviours and dynamics of senior executive audiences.

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.
For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week.
We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
